Moderate pace with leisurely intermittent walks up to 2 hours on a variety of terrain, including cobblestones and moderate hills. Must be able to climb at least two flights of stairs, negotiate steps without railings and tolerate periods of standing during guided tours. Some days may include 3–5 km of walking over the course of the day.
We depart for Moncton, New Brunswick, where we begin our Atlantic Canadian adventure. Upon arrival, we settle into our hotel before gathering for a Welcome Reception to meet our fellow travellers and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
Today we travel to the spectacular Hopewell Rocks, where we experience the incredible tides of the Bay of Fundy. Enjoy lunch overlooking the bay before continuing through Fundy National Park, renowned for its dramatic coastline, waterfalls, and scenic lookouts. This evening, we will discover Moncton together with a guided tour of the city.
This morning we visit Magnetic Hill before exploring MR21, where we learn about Moncton’s history and resilience. Later, we witness the remarkable Tidal Bore as the waters of the Bay of Fundy surge upstream. This evening is yours to discover Moncton as your leisure.
We travel to the charming Acadian community of Bouctouche to visit Le Pays de la Sagouine, where costumed performers bring Acadian culture, traditions, and history to life. Continuing to Shediac, the Lobster Capital of the World, we board a scenic cruise to enjoy a delicious lobster lunch while taking in the beautiful coastal scenery. Before returning to Moncton, we stop for photos at the town’s famous Giant Lobster.
Crossing the impressive Confederation Bridge, we arrive on beautiful Prince Edward Island. Our day includes a scenic drive along the island’s North Shore, a visit to Green Gables Heritage Place, and time to explore Prince Edward Island National Park. Following lunch at a local restaurant, we enjoy a guided tour of historic Charlottetown. Enjoy free time to discover Charlottetown at your own pace. Browse local shops, stroll its historic streets, or linger at one of the city’s inviting restaurants or cafés.
This morning we depart Prince Edward Island and head to our home for the next 4 nights, Saint John. En route, we visit Fort Beauséjour—Fort Cumberland National Historic Site, where we learn about the struggles between the French and British that helped shape Atlantic Canada.
This morning, enjoy a guided city tour, including the historic Uptown district and the famous Reversing Falls Rapids, where the powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy reverse the flow of the Saint John River. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Later, we visit the Moosehead Brewery for a guided tour and tasting, offering a behindthe-scenes look at Canada’s oldest independent brewery and its brewing traditions.
Today we travel to Fredericton, New Brunswick’s charming capital city. Highlights include the Legislative Assembly, Christ Church Cathedral, and the historic Garrison District. Enjoy free time to stroll the downtown waterfront before returning to Saint John.
One of the highlights of our journey awaits today as we travel the spectacular Fundy Trail Parkway with a knowledgeable local guide. Along the way, we’ll discover the fascinating geology, history, and wildlife of the Bay of Fundy while stopping at breathtaking coastal lookouts, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in Saint John, with time to revisit a favourite spot, browse the shops, or simply soak up the atmosphere of the city before we come together this evening for our Farewell Dinner.
Following breakfast, we bid farewell to Atlantic Canada and begin our journey home with wonderful memories of the Bay of Fundy, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick’s warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage.
