Moderate pace with leisurely intermittent walks up to 2 hours on a variety of terrain, including cobblestones and moderate hills. Must be able to climb at least two flights of stairs, negotiate steps without railings and tolerate periods of standing during guided tours. Some days may include 3–5 km of walking over the course of the day.
We depart from Toronto and Burlington and travel to Prince Edward County, beginning our visit with a winery tour and tasting of their locally crafted wines. Next, we visit a charming lavender farm, where you’ll have time to explore the fragrant fields before enjoying a distillery tour and sampling their unique lavender-flavoured treats. We end the day with an overnight stay in Picton.
This morning, we set out on a scenic boat ride along the Napanee River, enjoying lunch on board as we take in the picturesque surroundings. We then continue to Kingston for a city tour, followed by a visit to Fort Henry.
After our fascinating tour of the Kingston Penitentiary, we board a 1000 Islands cruise to explore the region while enjoying live commentary, live music, and lunch. Once we disembark, we head to our home for the next two nights, Ottawa.
Along with an informative city tour, we’ll visit Parliament Hill, the seat of Canada’s government, and Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Governor General. We’ll also explore the Canadian Museum of History, home to engaging exhibits that showcase the country’s rich past and diverse heritage.
This morning, we depart Ottawa and travel to Montréal, where we will spend the final two nights of our tour. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a city tour before visiting the magnificent Notre-Dame Basilica, renowned for its stunning Gothic Revival architecture and breathtaking interior adorned with intricate wood carvings and vibrant stained glass.
We will spend the morning leisurely strolling through the beautiful Montréal Botanical Gardens, home to themed gardens and lush greenhouses. This afternoon is yours to explore the city. Tonight, we gather for out farewell dinner.
We bid farewell to our fellow travellers as we make our way back to the Toronto and Burlington areas.
We say au revoir to La Belle Province and return to Ontario by coach.
