Enchanting Bali – Temple, Terraces & Island Escape
Active pace with longer touring days. Expect intermittent walking at a moderate pace for 2–3 hours over a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, hills and uneven pavements. Must be able to negotiate stairs of varying heights, sometimes without handrails. Can tolerate periods of standing during guided tours and be able to climb in/out of various modes of transportation. Some days may include 5–7 km of walking over the course of the day.

We arrive in Ubud and transfer to our hotel. Welcome dinner this evening.
Begin the day at Tegalalang Rice Terraces, known locally as “Terasering,” a traditional Balinese irrigation landscape. Continue to a local coffee plantation for a tasting of Bali’s famous coffee blends. The day concludes at Tirta Empul Temple, a sacred water temple believed by locals to hold purifying and healing powers.
Experience a hands-on elephant encounter at Bali Zoo, where you can interact closely with Sumatran elephants. Continue to the Ayung River for a white-water rafting adventure through lush rainforest, deep gorges, and thundering waterfalls along one of Bali’s most scenic rivers.
A full day at leisure in Ubud.
Visit Taman Ayun Royal Temple surrounded by tranquil water gardens. Continue to Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, home to a protected colony of monkeys and other wildlife. Travel north to Bedugul and Lake Beratan to see the iconic Ulun Danu Temple often referred to as the “floating temple.” Journey on to Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, a UNESCO-listed landscape meaning “supreme beauty of nature,” before ending the day at the iconic coastal temple of Tanah Lot.

Travel to the coast and cross by fast boat to Nusa Penida. Arrive on the island and continue to your accommodation. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the island setting.
Discover the dramatic landscapes of Nusa Penida, including Kelingking Cliff viewpoint, Broken Beach, Angel’s Billabong, and Crystal Bay. Enjoy time to explore cliffs, rock formations, and coastal scenery.
Return by boat to mainland Bali and continue to Sanur. Afternoon at leisure to relax by the coast or explore the surrounding area.
Visit Uluwatu Temple, dramatically set on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. In the evening, experience the traditional Kecak Fire Dance performance.
Explore Denpasar’s cultural landmarks including Bajra Sandhi Monument, Bali Museum, and Puputan Square, a historic urban park in the center of Denpasar. Afternoon at leisure, tonight is our Farewell Dinner.
Discover rural Bali at Rumah Desa in Tabanan with a scenic trek to a local coffee plantation, a visit to a sacred holy spring, and a walk across a bamboo bridge into lush rice fields. Learn about the traditional Subak irrigation system, try hands-on farming activities, and connect with local villagers for an authentic cultural experience. A family-style Balinese lunch is included before returning to the hotel.
One final day at leisure, with time to relax or explore at your own pace. This evening, enjoy a delicious Farewell Dinner. Later we transfer to the airport for our flight back home via Doha.
