We fly to Vienna, Austria.

We arrive and enjoy a morning tour of this magical city. Travelling along Vienna’s grand Ringstrasse— once the Habsburgs’ imperial showcase—you’ll take in the city’s majestic landmarks, from the historic Parliament and City Hall to the Imperial Palace, before settling into your hotel and enjoying a warm welcome dinner to begin your journey

A day at leisure to explore Vienna on your own. Your Tour Manager will be happy to offer suggestions.

Following a leisurely breakfast, we depart the hotel at noon for a guided visit of the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the Baroque summer residence of the imperial family, before transferring to the pier to board your luxurious river ship—where you’ll meet the cruise director over a Welcome Cocktail and enjoy a specially prepared Welcome Dinner as we set sail for enchanting Bratislava.

Our city tour will take us to St. Martin’s Cathedral and the Grassalkovich Palace. As we stroll through the historic city center, we’ll admire numerous palaces, the city’s oldest university, the Opera House, and Maximilian Fountain.

Today’s included excursion takes us from Budapest to the charming artists’ village of Szentendre, the hilltop fortress of Visegrád with its panoramic Danube views, and historic Esztergom, home to Hungary’s largest basilica. Later, join our AMADEUS Taste experience featuring local flavours at the Budapest’s Market Hall, a city tour through City Park, a metro ride to the center, and a sweet treat at a traditional pastry shop before visiting St. Stephen’s Basilica.

Journey through Baroque Vukovar and the wetlands of Kopački Rit by boat. Then explore historic Osijek, enjoying local tastings and gaining cultural insights into Croatia’s rich natural and historical heritage.

Explore one of Europe’s oldest capitals as you take in sweeping views from Kalemegdan Fortress, admire the grandeur of St. Sava Cathedral—the world’s largest Orthodox church—and pass iconic landmarks like the National Museum, Terazije Square, and the elegant Palace of Princess Ljubica, with time to relax over a refreshing local treat. Later, experience the magic of Belgrade by night with a lively folklore show featuring traditional music, dance, and wine, followed by a stroll through the charming, bohemian Skadarlija district, known as the Montmartre of Belgrade, where we end the evening in one of its inviting restaurants or pubs.

Begin a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Serbia’s breathtaking Iron Gates region with a guided hike through remote Djerdap National Park to the stunning Kovilovo viewpoint, followed by a visit to Kapetan Miša’s Hill estate to savour traditional delicacies like honey brandy and fried nettles.

Arrive in the Bulgarian town of Svisthov, the southernmost point on the Danube. You’ll journey to the striking 16th-century Basarbovo Monastery, then explore the elegant architecture and rich heritage of Rousse—known as “Little Vienna”—before enjoying local wine and cheese pastry in a traditional restaurant and returning to the ship.

Explore the stunning Danube Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in flora and fauna, and enjoy a free day to book optional tours such as a full-day safari with traditional lunch and boat tour to spot pelicans, or an excursion to Constanta and Murfatlar with a Black Sea journey and wine tasting, both offering scenic routes and cultural insights. In the evening, enjoy a vibrant one-hour folklore show blending Romania’s traditional dance and music with modern influences for a memorable onboard experience.

After breakfast, leave your AMADEUS ship in Festeşti and journey to Bucharest to explore its lively cityscape, enjoy local lunch, check into your hotel, and end the day with a farewell dinner.
