We depart for Guadalajara. Upon arrival, we are met and transferred to our centrally located hotel, ideally situated in the heart of the historic centre.

We begin with a guided walking tour of Guadalajara’s historic centre, rich in colonial architecture, lively squares, and cultural landmarks. Highlights include Plaza de Armas, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the UNESCO-listed Hospicio Cabañas, home to powerful murals by José Clemente Orozco reflecting Mexico’s artistic and social history. The afternoon is at leisure to explore cafés and markets or revisit favourite spots. This evening, we enjoy our Welcome Dinner

We travel west to the UNESCO-listed site of Guachimontones, known for its rare circular pyramids and ceremonial structures. We then continue to Tequila, birthplace of Mexico’s iconic spirit. After lunch at a local restaurant, we visit a distillery to learn how blue agave is transformed into tequila using traditional methods still used today.

Today is free to enjoy Guadalajara at our own pace. Relax in pedestrianfriendly plazas, explore museums, browse local shops, or simply enjoy the city’s atmosphere. Your Tour Manager will be available with suggestions for optional activities and dining.

We attend a traditional Charrería performance, a celebrated showcase of horsemanship, precision, and Mexican heritage. Featuring coordinated riding displays, rope work, and traditional dress, it offers a vivid glimpse into local identity and tradition.

We visit the artisan village of Tlaquepaque, known for its colonial streets, galleries, and craft shops. A guided walk introduces traditional courtyards, artisan workshops, and boutiques. After lunch at a local restaurant, there is time to explore independently before returning to Guadalajara.

Another opportunity to enjoy Guadalajara at leisure. Return to the historic centre, explore new neighbourhoods, or join optional activities. The day is free to experience the city at your own pace.

We visit Tonalá, a leading centre for Mexican crafts, especially pottery, glasswork, and ceramics. We tour workshops where artisans demonstrate their techniques and share generational craftsmanship. After lunch, we return to Guadalajara for an afternoon at leisure.

We depart Guadalajara and travel south to the Lake Chapala region. Upon arrival, we check in to our lakeside resort surrounded by peaceful scenery and lake views. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and settle in.

We visit Ajijic, known for its colourful streets, artistic spirit, and relaxed atmosphere. Strolling on foot, we discover murals, galleries, cafés, and local shops before free time for lunch and a leisurely return to the resort.

We travel into the mountains to Mazamitla, a designated “Magical Town” often called the “Switzerland of Mexico” due to its alpine scenery. We explore the main plaza, church, and streets lined with whitewashed buildings and red-tiled roofs. After time in town, we enjoy lunch before returning to Lake Chapala.

A full day at leisure to enjoy the resort and surrounding area. Relax by the lake, enjoy the facilities, or take in the peaceful setting at our own pace.

We visit San Juan Cosalá for a hydrothermal spa experience featuring hot and cold jacuzzis infused with natural elements such as herbs, coffee, flowers, chocolate, and apple cider vinegar. Optional spa treatments and massages are available. Lunch is available on site before returning to the resort.

Another relaxed day at Lake Chapala. We may unwind at the resort, stroll along the lake, or revisit nearby villages for independent exploration.

We enjoy a final day at leisure at our lakeside resort. We gather for a farewell cocktail reception and Dinner. The evening includes live mariachi music, celebrating the region’s cultural heritage.

We transfer to the airport for our return flight back to Canada.
