Today, we embark on a tour of Tokyo, discovering some of the city’s most iconic sites, including the historic Asakusa Kannon Temple, Nakamise Street, Tsukiji Market, Meiji Shrine and the world-famous Shibuya Crossing.

Today promises stunning scenery as we travel along the foothills of the Japanese Alps, enjoying constant panoramic views of Mount Fuji. We’ll visit Oshino Hakkai, a picturesque village renowned for its eight crystal-clear, spring-fed ponds, and ride the Kawaguchi Lake Ropeway for breathtaking 360-degree views of Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji

Step back in time with a visit to Aizu’s Tsuruga Castle, a 600-year-old symbol of the Ashina clan, and experience the Aizu Samurai Residences. End the day with a relaxing stay at a traditional onsen hotel, soaking in the history.

Today, we continue to Yamagata, beginning with a visit to Oyaku Garden, a historic medicinal herb garden dating back approximately 600 years. We then enjoy a sake tasting at Otokoyama Sake Brewery, discovering more about one of Japan’s most celebrated traditional beverages.

We continue north to Akita, visiting Michi no Eki Akita Port, a lively waterfront complex featuring shops and an observation tower. We then discover the fascinating traditions of the region at the Namahage Museum, dedicated to the unique collection of demon masks and enjoy a live ritual performance.

Today, we travel from Akita to Aomori, enjoying scenic views along the way. We visit the Tsugaru Iwaki Skyline Ropeway, offering spectacular mountain and countryside vistas. We also discover the fascinating world of the Aomori Nebuta Festival at the Nebuta Museum, celebrating one of Japan’s most famous summer festivals.

This morning we take the bullet train to Hakodate for a 2 night stay. Rest of the day at leisure.

Start the day at Hakodate’s lively Morning Fish Market, visit the historic Hakodate Hachimangu Shrine, then ride the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway for sweeping views of the city, bay, and surrounding mountains.

Discover the otherworldly landscape of Noboribetsu Hell Valley, with its steaming vents and sulfur springs, then step into Edo-period Japan at Date Jidai Village, a lively historical park with over 90 reconstructed buildings. After the tour, transfer to Sapporo for a 3-night stay.

Today, we explore the charming port city of Otaru, visiting the historic Otaru Canal and Warehouse District. After returning to Sapporo, we stroll through Odori Park before visiting the Sapporo Beer Museum, which traces the history of brewing in Japan.

Today, we discover more of Sapporo and the history and culture of Hokkaido. Visit the Hokkaido Historical Village Open-Air Museum, where life in Hokkaido during the late 19th and early 20th centuries is brought to life. Nearby, explore the Hokkaido Museum, dedicated to the region’s history, nature and culture. We also visit the peaceful Hokkaido Shrine before enjoying free time in Susukino, Sapporo’s renowned entertainment and dining district. Our final stop is Shiroi Koibito Park, famous for its beautiful gardens, chocolate-making heritage and the beloved Shiroi Koibito cookies.

Fly to Osaka. Transfer to Kyoto.

Discover Kyoto’s cultural treasures, including the historic Kiyomizu Temple and atmospheric Gion district. Stroll through Nishiki Market, known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen,” and experience the breathtaking beauty of Fushimi Inari Shrine’s endless path of striking vermilion torii gates.

On today’s tour, explore Kyoto’s timeless beauty with a visit to Kinkakuji, the stunning Golden Pavilion. Discover the Zen majesty of Tenryuji Temple. We then experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony before strolling through the tranquil, ethereal paths of Arashiyama’s iconic Bamboo Forest. Tonight is the farewell dinner.

Today, we travel to Osaka for a half-day tour of this vibrant city. Visit Osaka Castle, a significant landmark dating back to the 16th century and closely associated with the great samurai and feudal lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi. We also visit the distinctive Namba Yasaka Shrine, famous for its enormous lion-head-shaped stage. The afternoon is at leisure to explore Osaka at your own pace.

Enjoy a leisurely morning before a special lunch experience. Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your flight home, bringing our unforgettable journey through Japan to a close.
