Sicily is the Mediterranean’s largest island and boasts a proud culture distinctly different from the rest of Italy.
It’s a destination rich in culture, customs and tradition as evident in the local art, music, cuisine, architecture, and even its own language—and a wonderful choice for the history buff. It is also incredibly scenic, with a coastline of pristine sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and rocky shores with crystal-clear azure waters. Inland, you’ll find rolling hills, fruit and olive orchards, ancient villages, and archaeological treasures.
We begin with 4 nights in Palermo, followed by 4 nights in Marsala, a historic coastal town renowned for its famous fortified wine, elegant Baroque architecture, and rich maritime heritage. Surrounded by vineyards, salt pans, and sparkling Mediterranean views, Marsala reflects Sicily’s layered past and warm southern hospitality.
We then travel to Agrigento for a one-night stay, home to one of Sicily’s most important archaeological sites, the Valley of the Temples. From here, we continue to the eastern side of the island for a seven-night stay in the charming resort town of Taormina, set along the Ionian Sea. Sightseeing in this region includes the clifftop town of Taormina, the vibrant city of Catania, ancient Syracuse, and the picturesque Sicilian villages featured in The Godfather.
