Malta & Cyprus: Mediterranean Islands Explorer
Active pace with longer touring days. Expect intermittent walking at a moderate pace for 2–3 hours over a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, hills and uneven pavements. Must be able to negotiate stairs of varying heights, sometimes without handrails. Can tolerate periods of standing during guided tours and be able to climb in/out of various modes of transportation. Some days may include 5–7 km of walking over the course of the day.
Fly to Malta via London.
Transfer to the hotel for a 7-night stay in sea view rooms. Welcome Dinner at the hotel.
Full-day excursion to Malta’s second largest island, Gozo. Visit Fontana Cottage, the Citadel, Gozo Cathedral, Dwejra Inland Sea, and prehistoric temples. Lunch included.
City tour of Valletta including Upper Barrakka Gardens, St. John’s Co-Cathedral, the Grandmaster’s Palace, and viewing of The Malta Experience film. Evening folklore show with dinner.
Visit Ta’ Qali Crafts Village, then continue to Mdina with stops at the Cathedral and Rabat catacombs.
A free day to relax by the Mediterranean, explore charming streets, or indulge in local cuisine.
Morning excursion to Senglea, Cospicua, and Vittoriosa (Malta’s Three Cities).
Transfer to the airport for flight to Cyprus. Upon arrival in Larnaca, transfer to the hotel.
Full-day tour visiting Larnaca, Kiti, and the Neolithic site of Choirokoitia. Enjoy a halloumi cheese-making demonstration and traditional lunch, ending the day in Lefkara, famous for lace and silver
Explore Nicosia, the 1,000-yearold capital enclosed by Venetian walls. Guided walking tour includes St. John’s Cathedral and Cyprus Archaeological Museum.
Relax by the beach, stroll along the Phinikoudes promenade, browse local shops, or enjoy a café by the Mediterranean.
Excursion to Pafos, visiting Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock), Tombs of the Kings, and the Houses of Dionysus, Theseus, and Aion archaeological park. Traditional lunch included.
Another day at leisure to unwind by the sea, explore local cafés and markets, or enjoy your hotel’s amenities.
Visit Limassol Castle, the ancient city of Kourion (theatre and House of Eustolios), stop at a plantation for lemonade and fruit picking, and continue to Omodos for wine tasting, lunch, and visit to the Monastery of the Holy Cross. Free time in the village.
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
