We fly to Halifax and transfer to our downtown hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure.

On our city tour of Halifax, our kilted guide will take us through the Victorian Public Gardens and stop at the top of Citadel Hill to take in the incredible harbour view. Then we’ll embark on the historic tall ship Silva for a scenic cruise that takes us past Georges Island, the Historic Properties, and the vibrant waterfront. If conditions are favourable, you can join the crew in raising the sails!

We start at picturesque Peggy’s Cove, famous for its neat houses, barren rocks, weathered wharves and the lighthouse point with a sweeping view of the ocean. Then we proceed to Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose (which you may know from the Canadian dime). We will visit the Fisheries Museum, then continue on to the Annapolis Valley.

As we travel along the historic Evangeline Trail, our first stop is Grand-Pré National Historic Site, which was made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem, Evangeline. Then we board the Fundy Rose ferry for a delightful cruise across the Bay of Fundy to Saint John.

Our tour of Saint John includes the famous Loyalist Trail and the Reversing Falls, where ocean waters rushing upstream form a whirling, foaming torrent. We spend the afternoon in picturesque St. Andrew, with free time for lunch and shopping.

Today we explore the quiet coves of Hopewell Rocks, with large flowerpot-shaped rock formations including “Mother-inLaw,” “ET” and “Lover’s Arch.” Then we continue on to Moncton, where we will spend the night.

On our way to PEI, we stop at Shediac, known as the Lobster Capital of the World, then drive across the Confederation Bridge to PEI and our hotel in Charlottetown. The afternoon is at leisure, and in the evening, we will enjoy a musical performance at the Confederation Theatre.

Our guided tour of the island starts in Charlottetown’s historic Confederation Centre, where the Fathers of Confederation met during the Charlottetown Conference. Then it’s off to the home of Anne of Green Gables at Cavendish, and the famous wharf in North Rustico. Tonight, we’ll feast on a lobster dinner at a local restaurant (alternatives available).

We return to Nova Scotia by ferry and proceed to the Bell Museum, where Alexander Graham Bell perfected his many inventions. Then we’re off to another stunning spot—Baddeck in the heart of Cape Breton—where we will spend the night.

A full-day tour of the scenic Cabot Trail. Nature lovers and photographers will love the quiet glens, rugged coastlines and pounding surf.

Today we take a guided tour of the Fortress of Louisbourg, the largest historic reconstruction in Canada. This evening we will have dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a performance by local musicians.

On our drive from Sydney back to Halifax, we travel through Scottish and English settlement towns like New Glasgow and Truro.

This morning we visit Pier 21, an exhibit recreating the immigration experience, with innovative displays bringing moving stories to life. Then it’s off to Alexander Keith’s, the oldest working brewery in North America. After we learn about beer, the brewery and life in Halifax in 1863, we visit Stag’s Head Tavern for toe-tapping live music and Keith’s finest ale. The afternoon will be at leisure to explore Halifax, with our Farewell Dinner in the evening.

We fly home with Air Canada.
