Active pace with longer touring days. Expect intermittent walking at a moderate pace for 2–3 hours over a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, hills and uneven pavements. Must be able to negotiate stairs of varying heights, sometimes without handrails. Can tolerate periods of standing during guided tours and be able to climb in/out of various modes of transportation. Some days may include 5–7 km of walking over the course of the day.

We arrive in Marseille and transfer to Avignon, with free time until our Welcome Dinner.
Today, discover Avignon’s historic heart on foot, including the famous Pont d’Avignon, lively Place de l’Horloge, and impressive Palace of the Popes, one of Europe’s most remarkable medieval monuments. Explore Les Halles, Avignon’s renowned indoor food market, while wandering through elegant squares, charming boutiques, and historic streets.
A free day to take in a museum or perhaps a cruise on the Rhône River. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a cooking demonstration and tasting of Provençal specialities with a local Chef.
Begin in Arles, a fascinating ancient town whose Roman heritage and colourful streets inspired Vincent van Gogh’s celebrated works. Continue to the Camargue, a unique natural reserve known for wild landscapes, salt marshes, and remarkable wildlife. Enjoy a special lunch at a traditional manade, discovering centuries-old Camargue cattle-ranching traditions and meeting the “cowboys” who work with the region’s famous white horses. Conclude in the picturesque seaside village of SaintesMaries-de-la-Mer, beautifully set along the Mediterranean coast.
This full-day excursion begins with Nîmes to see some of the world’s best-preserved Roman monuments, with some free time to wander on your own. Then we enjoy a walking tour of Uzès, France’s premier medieval dukedom. We will stroll the shaded boulevards and medieval streets and visit the Pont du Gard, a technical and artistic masterpiece that has been in place for 2,000 years.
A day at leisure to further explore Avignon. Consider crossing the Rhône River to visit medieval Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, with its imposing hilltop Fort Saint-André, Philippe le Bel Tower, peaceful cloisters, and arts centres.
Today’s excursion takes us into the heart of the Luberon, celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and beautiful villages. Discover enchanting Roussillon, set against vibrant ochre cliffs and colourful landscapes shaped by nature. Continue to Gordes, a spectacular medieval hilltop village with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Conclude in Coustellet with a visit to the Lavender Museum, learning about Provence’s iconic flower and the aromas and traditions that have made the region world-famous.
Enjoy a morning in Vaison-la-Romaine, an ancient Roman town renowned for its colourful market, one of the largest in Provence. Continue to the summit of Mont Ventoux for breathtaking views over the Toulourenc Valley, then end the day with a visit to a local winery and a taste of Provençal wines.
Enjoy a final taste of Provence at your own pace. Choose to explore Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the dramatic hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence, or L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a charming riverside town celebrated for its canals, antique shops and vibrant market.
Discover Orange, the Gateway to Southern France, and its remarkable Roman heritage, including the famous Triumphal Arch and one of Europe’s best-preserved ancient theatres. Then it’s time for truffles! Visit a welcoming local family who will share their passion for this prized delicacy and demonstrate how specially trained dogs uncover Provence’s “black gold.” End with a delicious truffle-inspired lunch.
We begin in Aix-en-Provence, a graceful city of elegant squares, fountains and Baroque-style architecture. Stroll along the famous Cours Mirabeau and explore a colourful Provençal market before continuing to Cassis, a charming fishing village nestled between the sea and dramatic coastal cliffs. Our journey concludes in Marseille, where we’ll experience the vibrant atmosphere of this fascinating Mediterranean city, with its historic Old Port and spectacular seaside views.
Today we will discover Marseille’s old port and original “Ombrière”, Esplanade du J4, Promenade Laffond, Notre-Dame de la Garde with its exceptional view of the city, the Frioul Islands and Château d’If, and more. The afternoon is free to visit one of the famous museums, explore “Le Panier” old town, take a scenic cruise, or browse the Republic Quarter’s stylish boutiques. Tonight is our Farewell Dinner.
We fly back to Canada via Paris.
