ABOARD THE MS TROLLFJORD
Active pace with longer touring days. Expect intermittent walking at a moderate pace for 2–3 hours over a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, hills and uneven pavements. Must be able to negotiate stairs of varying heights, sometimes without handrails. Can tolerate periods of standing during guided tours and be able to climb in/out of various modes of transportation. Some days may include 5–7 km of walking over the course of the day.
We begin our journey with an overnight flight from Toronto, travelling to Europe where we connect onward to Norway’s elegant capital, Oslo.
Upon arrival in Oslo, we are warmly welcomed and transferred to our hotel to settle in after our journey. This evening, we gather for a delightful dinner, marking the beginning of our Norwegian adventure together.
Our scenic journey to Bergen begins with a coach transfer to the station, where we board a spectacular train crossing Norway’s rugged mountain plateau. We continue via the famous Flåm Railway and a breathtaking fjord cruise along the Sognefjord, arriving in Bergen where our luggage awaits at the hotel.

Cruising through the breathtaking Lysefjord, we admire towering cliffs and the iconic Pulpit Rock rising high above the water. In Stavanger, a guided walking tour reveals colourful streets, historic wooden homes, and fascinating stories of this vibrant coastal city.
Today we experience the beauty of Hardangerfjord, often called the “Queen of the Fjords,” where orchards, glaciers, and mountain villages create a stunning panorama. In Eidfjord, you can visit the Hardangervidda Nature Centre or marvel at the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall on an optional excursion
We journey into the majestic Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway, surrounded by towering cliffs and serene waters. From the peaceful village of Skjolden, you can explore glacier landscapes, scenic valleys, and historic sites including the remarkable Urnes Stave Church.
A relaxed panoramic tour introduces us to the charming town of Ålesund, renowned for its elegant Art Nouveau architecture. We enjoy breathtaking views from Mount Aksla and take in the picturesque harbour and surrounding islands.
Sailing into Nordfjord, we are immersed in a landscape of dramatic mountains, cascading waterfalls, and peaceful villages. In Olden, we journey through the scenic Oldedalen Valley to the breathtaking Briksdal Glacier, a dramatic arm of the famous Jostedalsbreen Glacier.
We return to Bergen this morning, where there is time to explore the historic Bryggen district or enjoy the waterfront atmosphere. We then transfer to the airport for our return flight home, bringing our remarkable Norwegian journey to a close.
