Active pace with longer touring days. Expect intermittent walking at a moderate pace for 2–3 hours over a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, hills and uneven pavements. Must be able to negotiate stairs of varying heights, sometimes without handrails. Can tolerate periods of standing during guided tours and be able to climb in/out of various modes of transportation. Some days may include 5–7 km of walking over the course of the day.
Depart for Rome
Arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport and transfer to your hotel in Naples. After check-in, enjoy a Welcome Dinner
Travel by coach to Pompeii for a guided tour of the archaeological ruins, exploring its remarkably preserved streets, houses and public buildings. Continue to Mount Vesuvius, travelling by shuttle to the Great Cone and walking to the crater with a volcanological guide.
Transfer to Naples Port and board the ferry to Ischia. Relax at the hotel before dinner.
Enjoy a relaxing day at leisure on Ischia. Take advantage of the hotel’s thermal facilities, including the indoor thermal pool, hydromassage pool and thermal garden, or explore the island independently.
Enjoy a guided panoramic tour of Ischia, with stops in Lacco Ameno, Forio and Sant’Angelo. Continue to Ischia Ponte for a guided visit to Aragonese Castle, followed by a winery visit and tasting of four wines with local specialities.
Enjoy a free day to relax and explore Ischia at your own pace. Make use of the hotel’s thermal facilities or take the shuttle to Lacco Ameno or San Montano Bay.
Transfer to Ischia Porto and ferry to colourful Procida. Meet your local guide and explore the island by taxi, including Terra Murata and the Church of San Michele Arcangelo. Enjoy time around the picturesque harbour before returning by ferry to Ischia.
Spend time at the hotel, make use of its thermal facilities, explore local shops or simply enjoy the island’s atmosphere.
Transfer to Ischia Porto and continue by coach to Forio. Visit the beautiful La Mortella Gardens, created by landscape architect Russell Page for Lady Susana Walton, exploring its subtropical gardens, exotic plants, ponds and panoramic terraces.
Enjoy another free day on Ischia. Relax at the hotel and enjoy its thermal facilities or spend time discovering more of the island independently.
Transfer to Ischia Porto and ferry to Capri. Enjoy a guided excursion including Anacapri, the Piazzetta, Via Camerelle and the Belvedere of Via Tragara with views of the Faraglioni.
Enjoy a final relaxing day at leisure on Ischia.
Transfer to Ischia Porto for the ferry to Naples. Transfer to the hotel.
Transfer by coach to Rome. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy time at leisure before your farewell evening.
Transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your flight home.
