Today’s journey takes you through West Kerry’s most dramatic landscapes. After a visit to colourful Dingle town, continue to Slea Head—the westernmost tip of Europe—where cliffs plunge into the roaring Atlantic. Your hike from Fahan to Dunquin passes ancient stone beehive huts, sheep-dotted meadows, and the sparkling waters surrounding the Blasket Islands. End with a golden-sand stroll on Coumeenoole Beach before exploring Dingle’s shops and cafés. Distance 8.5km/5.3 miles | Elevation gain 390mtrs/1200ft

Travel to Killarney, your base for the next five nights, a town surrounded by lakes and mountains. This afternoon, explore Killarney National Park on foot, wandering its forested trails and visiting the stately Muckross House and Gardens. Distance – 6km/3.75miles | Elevation gain 115mtrs/360ft

Begin the day with a magical boat cruise across Killarney’s famous trio of lakes, starting at the medieval Ross Castle and gliding past wooded shores and mountain vistas to Lord Brandon’s Cottage. From here, hike through secluded glens, ancient oak forests, and quiet valleys to Galway’s Bridge. Keep your eyes open for red deer and soaring eagles along the way. In Glenbeigh, witness the incredible teamwork between shepherd and sheepdog during a live demonstration—a true highlight of rural Ireland. Then lace up for your hike along the Kerry Way to Kells, following grassy ridges, bogland trails, and coastal viewpoints with panoramic views over Dingle Bay. Venture into the mystical Beara Peninsula to see the Uragh Stone Circle, set between two shimmering lakes with a mountain backdrop. Continue to Gleninchaquin Park for a scenic loop alongside its spectacular waterfall. At the summit, take in sweeping valley views before descending through meadows and river paths. Travel along the Ring of Kerry, pausing at the towering Kerry Cliffs for breathtaking ocean vistas.
