Discovering Budva – Montenegro’s Sweet Spot

A beach vacation with a side of history: if that sounds like the perfect combination, you’ll love Budva.

This lovely coastal town in Montenegro offers the best of both words, going back to the times of Greeks, Illyrians, and Romans. All that fascinating history comes with a beautiful backdrop, with the picturesque Dinaric Alps in one direction and the sparkling blue Adriatic in the other.

Budva has a rhythm all its own

Its medieval Old Town (Stari Grad), encircled by ancient stone walls, is a labyrinth of cobbled lanes, hidden courtyards, and churches that date back centuries, with the iconic Citadel rising above it all. Explore its many boutiques, cafés, and outstanding seafood restaurants.

Beyond the walls, more beauty

The Budva Riviera is dotted with beaches, cliffs and forts, and is easy to explore on foot, making your way along beaches connected via paths with scenic views. Mogren Beach is a local favourite swimming spot: tucked between cliffs, it’s a quiet seaside escape just a short walk from the Old Town.

Relax…there’s plenty of time to explore

Join us on our Montenegro Unveiled stay-put tour and you’ll have 14 glorious days to immerse yourself in this beautiful place, bask on its beaches, and discover its stories. Our stay-put holidays are just that: you stay put in one well-reviewed, well-located hotel, join all the excursions you’re interested in and have lots of free time to do whatever you want on your own. Our base is the beachfront Iberostar Waves Bellevue, a lovely resort with swimming pools, gracious gardens, 3 restaurants, 6 bars, spa, and, of course, a stunning private beach.

In April, take your time with Budva and beyond

Our Montenegro Unveiled stay-put holiday, April 11–24, 2026, is your chance to settle in and really experience Montenegro at your own pace. Join us!

A Foodie’s Guide to PEI

One of the best parts of travelling is tasting your way through new places – and our tiniest province is a wonderful place to do just that. From fresh-caught seafood to artisanal breads and farm-to-table fare, PEI is definitely big on flavour. Here’s a list to kickstart some delicious exploring:

1. PEI lobster. The Island’s most famous dish is sweet, tender, and unforgettable. Enjoy it boiled, grilled, or in a creamy lobster roll.

2. Island mussels. World-famous for their plump, juicy texture, they’re delicious steamed with garlic, white wine, or spicy chorizo.

3. Malpeque oysters. Considered some of the best oysters in the world, Malpeques are briny, crisp, and refreshing.

4. Potatoes. The Island’s rich red soil produces some of the sweetest, creamiest potatoes in the world. Sample them as classic fries, roasted, or in a hearty potato soup.

5. Bannock. This traditional Indigenous bread has become a beloved local staple. It can be baked, fried, or cooked over an open flame, and is often enjoyed with butter, jam, or as a side for savoury dishes.

6. Island dairy. PEI is home to small, wonderful artisanal farms that produce creamy cheeses, fresh milk, and butter. Grab a slice of homemade bread and a piece of local cheddar, and you’re all set.

8. Wild blueberries. These tiny berries, packed with flavour and antioxidants, can be found all over the Island. Pick some fresh berries for an afternoon snack, or enjoy them in locally-made jams, pies, and other sweet temptations.

Give your taste buds a treat this spring
Book a spot on our upcoming 2-centre tour to Nova Scotia & PEI - 2 Centre Tour and discover the beauty and friendly vibe of Canada’s East Coast. The 10-day tour departs July 11, 2026, and is your chance to sample some of the best cuisine Canada has to offer!

Exploring by e-Bike: The Ultimate Irish Adventure

With rugged coastlines, winding country roads and postcard-perfect harbours, Ireland’s wild landscapes just beg to be explored by e-bike. E-bikes blend freedom, comfort, and just the right amount of pedal-power, making them the ideal way to unlock every corner of this extraordinary country.

More exploring. Less effort. Enjoy the satisfaction of exploring under your own power, then kick into e-gear to tackle tougher climbs. With electric assist, you can comfortably cycle farther than on a traditional bike, reaching hidden beaches, tucked-away villages, and ancient stone forts.

Be part of the scenery. On an e-bike, you’re part of the environment, not just someone passing through. Smell the sea air, pause to watch sheep grazing on green hillsides, and stop for photos.

Sustainable, authentic travel. Exploring by e-bike means you’re lowering your carbon footprint and supporting local communities along the way, with more chances to engage with locals and experience famous Irish hospitality.

Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or someone who hasn’t been on two wheels in years, our Ireland eBike & Walking Tour is a unique chance for authentic exploration. Join us for a comfortably-paced 12-day itinerary, departing June 6, 2026. We’ll see the Dingle Peninsula, the heritage town of Tralee, the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry, Dublin, and more.

Spooky Fun Fact: Halloween’s Irish Beginnings

Did you know Halloween started in Ireland? It’s true: the festival has its roots in the ancient Celtic holiday, Samhain which marked the end of the harvest and the start of the dark winter. Celts believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the dead was at its thinnest, allowing spirits to roam the earth. To protect themselves, people lit large bonfires, offered food and drink to wandering spirits, and wore masks or costumes to disguise themselves from harmful entities.

Today, that rich history is celebrated across the country:

  • Derry is home to one of Europe’s largest Halloween festivals with parades, fire displays, haunted tours, and ghost storytelling.
  • Ballyvaughan & County Meath host traditional bonfires, pumpkin trails, and community celebrations.
  • Bunratty Castle, County Clare hosts medieval-style banquets and ghostly castle tours.
  • Galway puts on street performances, parades, and markets with themed treats and crafts.

Visitors can explore eerie castles, join ghost walks, and even participate in Samhain-inspired ceremonies! Spooky? Maybe. Fun? Definitely.
